Nice reactive target! I've only used this DA Targets target so far with .22LR ammo, and the bullets pass through without taking any chunks out of the material. My only concern is that the base is a flexible material too and not metal as I had anticipated. I'm unsure how many hits the base can take before it becomes damaged. It may never become damaged from hits, but at this point I really don't know how it will react to getting shot as I've only used it for one range trip so far, and with a minimal caliber round. I mounted the base to a wooden 2x4, with the orange target hanging down. I didn't want to have to keep going out to the target to reset it, as I would have had I mounted it with the target at the top. With it hanging down, .22LR will go clean through and make the target move a little bit, allowing you to know you scored a hit. Time will tell as to how much abuse this target can take. Future range sessions will take place with larger calibers (all FMJ ammo). I'm not sure I like this any better though than a steel target. Steel targets if using the appropriate ammo for what the steel is rated for are a lifetime target. I guess the biggest advantage though to these Da Targets is their light weight. Most people could easily lift a rack of these targets, while they would be hard-pressed to lift a full rack of steels target.
